Daddy/Daughter Dance

Mom's if your daughter's have a dance , a date, whatever with their daddy this Valentine Season. I urge you to pick them up something special from their Daddy's ( yes it would be great if the dad would do) But I find it easier to just do myself ;). 

I could buy my girls 100 gifts over the year's but nothing would hold a candle to that ONE gift that daddy gives them right before the Daddy/Daughter Dance every year. It is their most treasured gift ever! They will always remember the day and who it was from. Last year Daddy got them each a heart ring, which they will only wear on very special occasions. The year before a "Daddy's Girl" necklace, of course, and this year a simple red crystal bracelet to wear on their date with Daddy!

Star Student

It is an honor for me as a parent and my child to be chosen 'Star Student" ( yes I know everyone gets a turn) but still an honor!! But the real honor is in serving. So we always make a little treat and gift  for my "star" to serve  to the class as a lesson on servanthood. Pastor Robert Morris said it best today "People measure success by the amount of people they have serving them, but God measures  success by the amount of people WE serve"  In the Kingdom the servant is of highest esteem. I want my children to learn the blessing is in the serving :).

Breakfast

Whenever one of my girls has something special at school that they are doing.. I put in a little extra effort in the morning to get them excited and let them know how proud I am of them. My oldest had a play today and she was playing an 'Angel", how appropriate :).

And FYI - If you put ANY type of drink in a "champagne" glass, you will get tons of smiles and they will drink anything in it also ;)

 

Memories.....

I could not resist sharing bc most of you would never believe that I can get this messy but yes I can. To make a memory, there are no rules or guidelines, just fun! 

You see it does not matter to me if the cookies look good, if they are pretty, or even edible for that matter. What matters is that my children will remember this night and live on in their hearts for generations to come :).

So enjoy, this is simply for enjoyment purposes only!

December 1st!

Tis the season.... December 1st the day to start the countdown to Christmas Day and what better way then with an Advent Calendar.. When my girls were very young we made the chains out of all different color papers to the count down to Christmas Day then we progressed thru the years... and you'll never guess what colors I went with this year for their advent......????? 

Yet you guessed right. Hot Pink and Black, figured I would just take the theme straight thru the New Year!

The Joy on my girls faces every morning when they awake and are so excited to see what is in the box is priceless.. It can be as little as a quarter or sticker but it is still sooooooo much fun and with the boxes disappearing day by day they can see just how close Christmas is.

I remember when I was younger always having an Advent Calendar, yes the traditional ones were you open a little tab and got a picture or a saying, but still so much fun. So I hope that my girls will pass this along to their children one day.. Can you even imagine what theirs will be.... probably a stack of really shoe boxes wrapped all different colors to the ceiling....hmmm... gives me an idea for next year ;). Hope you all have your advents... It's never to late, you can even do a small one.. like Ten Day countdown. Think "out of the box".

Thanksgiving Teacher Gift!

Teachers are Rock Stars to me!!! Every time I volunteer in one of my daughters class rooms I am reminded again and again how truly GREAT they are! So yes I try to gift them as much as I can to show my appreciation ;).

The last time I watched class during lunch there was a lack of napkins, plastic ware, paper products in general.... not that the kiddos need anything fancy but it gave me an idea for a Fall/Thanksgiving gift. 

Target had all their fall colors of paper products on clearance as low as .68 cents each, what a bargain! 

So whether or not they use in the classroom or take home for their family or entertaining, a practical gift to me is the best, and who does not use paper products...Save on washing dishes is what I am talking about ;).

Put them all in a basket - a little ribbon, a little love, and you got an awesome , easy, cheap gift!  My mom who lives in another State sent the Fall Harvest hearts to the girls for their teachers so I am sorry I cannot tell you were to get these. She sent them after I had gotten the paper products and they matched perfectly, so creative minds think alike even worlds apart :).

 

On a side note. I am thankful to all of you who take the time to read this blog.. Who are patient with ,y late posts. I am still learning but will promise to do my best! Thanks so much for your support and nice posts :). Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
